Meta Tag Description And Keywords Update

The meta tags 'description' and 'keywords' used to be the mainimportant thing for searchengine spiders after the title tag inthe old days. Now the last few years we've seen a huge dropbackbecause of meta spam. Webmasters tricked the spiders by usingkeywords that we're popular but totally not relevant to theirsite.
Meta tags are a part of HTML that the surfer never sees. Theyare not included for the surfer's benefit and their contents arenot printed to the screen. The main use of meta tags is toprovide information for the search engines to use when thespider evaluates a page's content.
Most smaller search engines still use these meta tags, but alsoYahoo and (especially) MSN. On some SEO forums there werespeculations of the return of the meta tags in Google. SEOexperts noticed Google using the meta tag description in theresults.

This means that most likely Google gives the meta tags anothertry or at least gives some level of value to it.
Here are some useful tips:
- Make sure you write a good description that encourages peopleto click on your link in the search engine results. - Bothmeta-tag description & keywords should be related to yourwebsite. - If you're a small website owner you could try to getmaximum traffic by focussing on misspelled keywords. - Keep themeta tag keywords below 15 keywords. - Do NOT spam ! Don'trepeat the same keyword twice, not in your meta description oryour meta keywords tag.
